Here is ff9 with the moguri mod, we aint getting an FF9 remake so play this :)

With FF9 remake nowhere to be seen, it's time for new developers to fill the gap. The golden age of Final Fantasy is over. The FF7 remake trilogy is bloated and crap, FF16 and FF15 were both missed opportunities.

I will go one further and actually say it's easy to focus on that number for media outlets to drive people to their site for ad revenue. There is so much more to this and as Polygon has mentioned it's cyclical

Also again efficiencies does not equal staff in game scope, audience, etc rather than "I like this so I will build it"

And we can unpack how being publicly traded is bad and selling out to a big company is bad rather than looking at your own efficiencies. The CEOs who sold to Microsoft seem to be mentioned nowhere... Again layoffs are shit but the reactions have been surface level there is so much more to it

Oh 100%. When you are owned by a publicly traded tech company this is always going to be a risk. Games is a business much like film and books and this one in particular is publicly traded where they LEGALLY have to show growth. I'm not saying it's good at all but those are the facts

Stuff like Expedition 33 does well not because it is turn based, it is a well-scoped quality project set to a budget and it clearly has an audience

It sucks that people are being made redundant. But Perfect Dark came out in 2000. Zero came out in 2005.

That’s 20+ years ago.

The MMOs don't count

I missed out 13... Well I guess that says a lot

I wrote to my MP about this. The fact it can't operate within the law, means that by definition the industry has failed because it's not actually providing a meaningful product that can be utilised without outright stealing other people's stuff

To be clear, we see them in early demos of stuff

Think about it, they are not really a hardware manufacturer, the Xbox is doing pretty poorly and "anything" can be an Xbox
