That’s why I’m excited to announce that I’ll be bringing forward a proposal to formally establish a Democratic Socialist Caucus within the City Council — and I will be running to lead it.

7/ there is so much work to be done (as evidenced by some of the reasons frey pulled off a 3rd term), but connecting with the community and meeting so many people doing such great work has made me want to be a part of it too. so thanks to everyone i talked to and met, you are all amazing :^)

5/ on a personal note, idk if i have ever felt more connected to my city than i have in this last year. ive truly fallen in love with mpls. being a cycling commuter has helped, not seeing the city out a car window will do that, but living, working, & being here has made me see how special mpls is.

4/ it has been so great being a volunteer on omar fateh's campaign. he truly represented the best of our city and his tireless activism is so inspiring, i can't wait to see what he continues to do from here (at the very least, as a wonderful state senator)

3/ also so proud to have been part of the election of dan engelhart to my park district, & a much more progressive, labor-friendly park board. i think its going to be great to see what we get from a board made up of people who respect our park workers & want the parks to be a space we all can enjoy.

2/ as a ward 2 resident im so proud to have re-elected robin wonsley as my council member. my spouse & i got some pretty crazy madore mailers & i was worried that in a student-heavy district that the kids would be fickle and things wouldnt go the way i wanted them to, but i was fortunately mistaken.

Anyone doing analysis of this outcome and omitting racism is divorced from reality. And I don't think that's me coping. It's from having spent SO MANY hours listening to the All of MPLS people devise this exact plan to undermine him and living their underhandedness in real time in various ways.
