Did they change their methodology? Indeed postings data was delayed, then 2 weeks released at once. Maybe the uptick is real, but it seems particularly broad based geographically at a time when some states are clearly doing better than others

The unemployment rate was 4.44% in September, pretty close to the September SEP median forecast of 4.5% for Q4 which implied a Dec cut. Why would the Fed’s reaction function shift with less data? The data they have would point to a cut.

I agree that a PhD doesn't guarantee a good or ethical central banker. However, saying Gov. Cook hasn't had any meaningful contributions is wrong and completely ignores her work on economic growth and innovation. She has a deep understanding of financial markets, inflation dynamics, productivity...
