The bonds paying over 5% right now is a direct reflection on our bonds(loaning US $) is no longer seen as safe haven. Higher interest rate necessary to get people to loan us $. Trouble.

When people refer to the “bond market” they’re talking about people who are buying US Treasury bonds. These are the people/countries who are basically lending the US govt $ & receiving interest payments. Higher interest payments mean that folks aren’t as interested in buying/lending us $ anymore.
