“Viaje Interior” is both a musical and mystical journey, tracing a path through pieces drawn from Andalusian Sufism.

How can one reconcile Mahler's orchestral grandeur with a performance on a single instrument, no matter how polyphonic it can be?

How does one adapt a chamber music piece, in which instrumental textures hold significant importance, for a performance on a single instrument?

An answer...perhaps.

Gustav Mahler and Arnold Schoenberg share the unusuality of having never composed music for the piano.

Beatrice Berrut presents, sometimes very freely, transcriptions for piano of Mahler's 5th, 6th, and 8th symphonies, as well as Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht. 👇🏻
