We had an exciting kick-off workshop for my team working on the cosmic large scale structure at Bielefeld University, where I brought my @erc.europa.eu Starting Grant. The new GrACe center and our facilitator Helena Ernst supported us to exchange our views and ideas to estbalish good collaboration!

Very excited to kick off our workshop at @esivienna.bsky.social on "Putting the cosmic large-scale structure on the map" today. Looking forward to a week of discussions around extracting the maximum of cosmological information from astronomical observations. Amazing support by the ESI team. Thanks!

#ICYMI, #ESAEuclid dropped its first batch of survey data, including a preview of its very own deep fields! 🤩

This video walks you through some of the hidden treasures the #DarkUniverse detective 🕵️ has uncovered. And this is still just the beginning. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXCB...

Teaching General Relativity this semester seems to make me a Theoretical Physicist rather than a Cosmologist. Also, Physicist seems to be the only end point reached by two arrows?!
Yep. It was published in "physicsworld". In the original reference they do ask for help updating it:

"Further suggestions will be most gratefully received. After all, as we’ve seen, there are a great many different disciplines out there, each with its own specific characteristics and quirks.”

For the #Spacetober prompt nebula it’s my portrait of the scientific Cinderella, who escaped a life of domestic drudgery to become astronomer Caroline Herschel (1750-1848)! 🐡🧪🧑🏼‍🔬#histsci She discovered 11 nebulae (2 of which turned out to be galaxies) which were previously unknown! 🧵1/2
