New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

Do you ever read a fic that like and then the AN note totally ruins it? It doesn’t happen often, but I finished reading a sort-of smutty one shot and the AN just says they hate writing this kind of thing and got no joy from it. Then why write it? For attention? I don’t get it.

One thing that always throws me off in fics is the author describing a sound as silent. Like saying “character gave a silent hum.” The whole point of a hum is that it’s not silent?? Am I the weird one? I will take that judgement, but I don’t think I’m the weird one.
