Thinking of @lyse.bsky.social today in Maine even though she’s in Oregon. I wonder what could have inspired my thoughts . . .

I’m not sure how to describe what I’m making. It’s too small to be considered a poncho. But covers half the body, so too big to be a cowl . . . It’ll be warm though—well, after I finish it!

This old thing? When I’m done with the second front panel, I’ll join the two halves together with a hood. Cascade Yarns Fixation. It’s cotton with a tiny bit of spandex that makes it insanely soft

I made a summer hoodie. It’s Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton. When I sent my friend the pic of the finished object, she answered with a two minute recorded rave. I sent it to her and said, “If it fits, you can keep it.” It fit. And she sent me a pic as proof. Now I gotta make myself a new one!

Decided to restart my project. I’m using Cascade Yarn Fixation. I started making a cardigan or poncho but decided to change tacks. The yarn has spandex in it and is incredibly springy, so brioche it had to be!

My latest finished object! Shawl? Poncho? Cowl?

I’m LOVING the shape of this shawl/poncho hybrid and can’t wait to wear it next winter (after I’ve finished it LOL) this is what happens when you’re making an asymmetrical triangle shawl and join it in the round to see what happens.

Started a new shawl today.

Juniper Moon Cumulus Degradé in colorway Key Lime Pie. I’m joining the second section as I go.

Look who has a new garment! Noro Uchiwa. I was originally going to have an open sleeve but, with the brioche, it flared too much, so I used a little bit of crochet and tacked the sleeve down.

I finished most of it but I decided to add to the sleeves because I clearly have enough yarn left! I actually like the way the sleeves look, so if I don’t love the longer sleeves, I’ll just rip it back.

Nothing says, “Spring time in Maine!!!!” like snow . . .

Noro Uchiwa yarn which is a mix of 50% cotton, 30% viscose, 20% silk. I. Love. This. I’m deciding how to finish it off.
March 20, 2025 at 2:29 PM
The way I shaped the sleeves, this is less vest and more winter tee! I’m LOVING the way this Noro Uchiwa is working up.

Rarely do I pick up yarn and immediately start knitting with it. I have a sizable stash and a long list of things I’d like to make with it. But when I picked up this Noro on Saturday, I couldn’t wait and began making a pullover vest.

Saturday, my husband pointed out they were having a sale on some Noro. There were three skeins of this gorgeous colorway and I’m hoping it’s enough for a vest. (I gave up on the banana silk project—for now—because it’s too slubby and I was working with needles that made the gauge too tight)

I got married February 26th in Vegas. I absolutely love my husband but this has got to be one of my favorite photos of all time. This is my friend Samantha. I hadn’t seen Sam since 2018 and I absolutely adore her. I can’t get enough of this candid shot of me cracking her up!

Ray and I went to a yarn store in Waterville, Maine called Yardgoods. They got us cupcakes for a bit of a wedding reception. (This is the store I got the yarn from that I used for the bolero I’m wearing)

Who else in Maine has this sticker?

I’ve been a nurse for 18 years and I have so much burn out and compassion fatigue; it’s not even funny or anything I can joke about. But look at these cookies that a patient sent us as a thank you! Totes adorbs

Last year, I picked up this banana silk yarn at Mexicali Blues. It’s interesting knitting with it. It’s slubby and thick and thin. I’m loving it though!

Initially, I was going to make a poncho—but that’s a LOT of knitting. So I frogged the whole thing and made an insanely warm bolero. The yarn is Yarn Snob in colorway Happiness. My husband was impressed.

So I got married on my late sister’s birthday! She would have been 51 and I wish that my husband would have gotten to meet her.
