word on the street is to hold out for Arrow's releases sometime soon™ as they'll likely be a bit better

why did they make this cat look so much like Brian Cox and then not have Brian Cox voice him

lots of really funny gags and some enjoyable stunt casting. surprising that it's been nearly a decade since the first one! probably not gonna rewatch this anytime soon but I really love the design of this world - building a city to accommodate residents of such dramatically different sizes

idk a lot of words to not say very much! and when typed out it can come across more negative than I actually feel
almost everyone I've met has been very pleasant and GB cosplay is consistently fun, rewarding, & well-received. it's just in a kinda weird place in greater pop-culture for me I guess

but one of those fandoms I feel like I wanna stay at arms-length from. hard to escape that enforced-positivity/consumer-culture "you HAVE TO watch and love all four movies"/"is some 45+ year old gonna call me a fake fan?" in a way that, say, Star Wars or MCU doesn't

I think GB cosplay is particularly fun and fascinating because people usually do their own last name and loadout rather than replicating one of the movie characters - really shows creativity and variety! - and it's so enduringly popular it always gets a big positive reaction.

like when a new movie comes out I'll straight up keep the cosplay in my closet for a year or two because I don't care enough to see them and I'll always remember the weirdo who saw my costume and assumed I'd want to talk about how The Real Ghostbusters was better than the '16 movie

...it's a little weird and intimidating how much people can get into it. particularly if they are lifelong fans - I knew the song as a kid but the cartoon was a little before my time and didn't see the movie until high school. I think it's a darn near perfect movie but I don't even like 2 that much!

anyways: pretty good movie. good to know the art of the low-budget 90-minute schlock action movie is still alive and kickin', and fun to see a writer-director who understands how action ownage and slapstick physical comedy can overlap really run with it

I'm (still) not the biggest horror guy so I haven't seen a lot of his most famous roles, but Brake is definitely one of Those Guys that I always love seeing pop up in a movie. I swear I'll watch Last Stop in Yuma County one of these days!!!

if you gave me 1,000 guesses what the music video for Billy Ocean's synth-rock-pop classic "Loverboy" looked like I would never land on this
