Mavis Beacon, all paws on (key)board!

Slackware brat with diabetes and a love for aerial arts and outdoorsy stuff. Also cats. Yes, I'm a witch. No, I didn't vote for the decomposing orange. Gimme my damn vaccines. He/him.
Three. And. A. Half. Hours. That doesn't even include setting up the tree itself, which I had the sense to do before the surgery that Mavis screamed at me until I got. At least she doesn't try to climb it. Can't wait for this lemon foot to heal up.

Laundry is clean but not put away. I want it done now, but she is making me rest.

EAT THE JACK O LANTERN.
Seriously, our economy is cooked and the decor is made of real calories. Can't believe I'm posting the dumpster fire recipe, but if it helps someone come up with an idea for theirs they feeds them it's worth it...

Good thing that this will last a while because it took me two days and I'm exhausted. Also, what the Purina happened to corned beef and hash? Like I knew it wasn't going to be the best shortcut, but it aspires to be as good as the block of Spam that I threw in because WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MEAT???

First round of cooking since surgery, and I butchered a carving pumpkin. Not the easiest pick to start with but it was by the cd table and I wanted the floor space.

Round two of cooking is done. I think this may look worse than the time I accidentally made mashed chicken but it's going up anyway 😅

Round two has started. No idea what to call this because I dumped in half a bag of egg noodles. It's definitely borsch flavored, but does that ever have those?

Sleepygills was too eepy to watch Dad making stanky vegetables this time.

Part one of tonight's cooking spree. Tried playing "is this an allergen yet" with the raw radishes. Nope, but they were past their prime so into a soup they went.

Farmer's market haul of the week. Zucchini is pretty much done for the year, same with eggplant. Just as well since I don't want to look at them after freezer prepping at least a half dozen of the monstrosities. Thankfully, chard leaves are quicker to work with. Also I have pet FOURTEEN DOGS today 🥰

Cooking round up. It's not too late to play the game of 'will new veggie make tongue go numb' since there are still swiss chard stalks in the fridge 😅

The games will only suck for a little bit. Just ask Geoffrey the Giraffe.

She just wants to sleep but some hooman that smells like eggplant keeps wanting back on the bed. I'm down to one eggplant, some peppers, and two of those like foot and a half zucchini left.

Resting between rounds of prepping stuff for the freezer. It will take as long as it takes. One eggplant, rest. One zucchini, rest. The zukes are all well over a foot each so they need peeling and the seeds scooped out. Sleepy floof is reminding me to rest.

Farmer's market haul. Kinda tempted to go back for more apples but also my back feels like defective tinkertoys. At least it's not a carving pumpkin this time 😅

It turned out decent, except for all the salt. Except the salt is all too necessary. I wanted to grab handfuls of thawed out peas and eat them straight from the bag.

Fall "decor" shopping: because the actual grocery store has no pumpkins.

Farmer's market haul. I brought the fugly bag and a tote that rarely gets used anymore, and I'm glad I did. Like thirty seconds after handing the guy five bucks: I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE. Then I got the tote bag past the stem, breathed a sigh of relief, and realized I was done petting dogs for the day.

Lazy caturday morning. Even the floof is zonked out.
