Just get the powder from Aldi, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I tend to use their powder for prewash and their simple tabs (not 3-in-1) for the main wash, in combination with the rinsing aid and salt. I find that gives me the best result overall.

Actually, both of the Miele dishwashers I've had in the last ten years (one of them quite fancy with self opening door and everything) did in fact have a pre wash cap - and when you look in the manual, it does advise you to use it!

I actually just recently played it, but stopped just shy of the ending. The Simon Says puzzle and generally everything in the castle was quite the letdown after a fun game before.
