What in the world are you talking about? I've been a Dem all my life and any Dem who voted for Rubio for this position should be held accountable for this vote. Vibes?

In this context, the fact that Belgium keeps making windfall revenue on immobilized Russian reserves (via taxation of Euroclear) must be re-examined. Belgium should transfer all that corporate tax income, with retroactive effect starting March 2022, to Ukraine in a transparent manner. Now. (2/2)

Compared with the proposed Reparations Loan: this morning’s decision provides the same amount of financing in 2026 and 2027, with the result that Ukraine’s needs are well covered. The financial conditions are slightly less advantageous for the EU, but the cost difference is small. (3/N)

You don't get Bush's war without the impunity of a Supreme Court that appointed him president in 2000. For me that outrageous decision unraveled the foundation of American democracy. And from that slippery slope comes the Trump downward slide.

Yes, things were rotten before. But it was such a breathtaking breach of trust and display of impunity that it broke something subtle but crucial: a belief that, for all their faults, our societies are broadly democratic. The breach has only widened since. As trust collapses, demagogues prosper. 2/3
