Just a bloke that wants to help the world be better.
Reality, politics rules our world so we need to change politics.
Plant a tree, help it grow.
Shinrin-yoku.
I like adrenaline and making things.
Soccer coach, firefighter.
The world would benefit from that kind of thinking. Sadly, there seems to be a growing desire to cut all men down instead of building all people up to the same ground. Can't we agree that equality should be equal for all?
It feels to me like some powerful interference is being played. Divide-conquer

It is far worse than Mr Mom jokes. The average SAHD is ostracised pretty much everywhere. There would barely be a day on SAHD forums where someone isn't calling for help to shrug off the sexism, isolation, and disrespect. Thankfully, we're growing networks to support, but it is slow and disjointed.

Hope it is going well.

There's a strong and growing network of SAHDs. Supporting each other to be the best Dads that we can.

Just remember, the job is parenting. As most SAHMs will tell you. Cooking, cleaning etc are shared duties, not the sole responsibility of the at home parent.

Spot on. It is a parenting struggle.

We need to recognise that it impacts SAHMs and SAHDs, irrespective of their profession. Being a parent who is engaged with their children is all consuming in the most marvellous way.

Sounds more like you're perpetuating gender norms.

It's a heck of an assumption that a SAHD would have more difficulty picking up those basic life skills. Many a SAHM don't cook or clean prior to parenthood.

Cooking a mean lasagne has never been a prerequisite to loving and caring for your family.

Ok, I need people's recommendations on what to replace my Berocca with.
As per the bloke in the article, it's about the boost in energy levels. What to do!

Once again, we are let down by a lack of clear communication. Our health industry as a whole is incredibly poor commentators, is incredibly lacking in accountability, and suffers disastrously high levels of hubris.

Very true. But begin at home and grow from there.
August 5, 2025 at 12:37 AM
It certainly does. It has broken several whom I've known personally.

It defies logic until you reflect on the cycles of politics within Australian police forces. Whilst there are many, many excellent people in the force (as a volunteer firefighter, you'd know that), there is sadly a very long history of less than transparent and ethical endeavours.

The Australian legal system isn't about justice, fairness, or even the right result. Our legal machine has created a closed system that makes incredible wealth for the actors. Workers' rights, parent's rights, divorce...

Another pillar of democracy has been corrupted to benefit the pointy end.

We are supposed to be smart, yet our media and #auspol actively undermine evidence based dialogue. Australians are particularly good at dismissing the intelligent and promoting the bully. It will take a lot of effort to instigate the necessary change, especially as the vested interests hold the mic.
August 4, 2025 at 6:02 AM
Absolutely. The media commentators are puppets of their masters, some so ignorant they don't even realise it.
April 12, 2025 at 1:02 PM
Thank you for sharing that reality. I find it so incredibly frustrating to the point of anger. Our children have been recklessly abandoned to lazy, ignorant policy. Worse, we were at a point where reasonable steps were embraced by most people, but media commentators skewed the politics.

Would they encourage a builder, firefighter, or spray painter to forgo their PPC/PPE? What about a welder bike rider or driver? I really don't understand GPs blasé attitude to airborne threats.
April 10, 2025 at 1:17 PM
Well, my family would love a GP with enough wisdom to be taking basic preventative measures. It is a real struggle to trust the ability of a GP if they're in denial about covid19, let alone the other airborne risks.
