Norway taxes their fossil fuel industry and gives their kids free university education.

In Australia, we give more than half of the gas we export away for free, and charge our kids a fortune to go to uni.

We want to understand the types of public interactions you are experiencing as a result of masking. Anything from off-hand comments to more extreme behaviour. Help us identify patterns and pressure points, so that we can advocate for safer, more inclusive public spaces.

I am so proud to see Australians turn out in peaceful protest. The situation in Palestine is very relevant to Australia, written in stone on our war memorials. We have no place ignoring the humanitarian crisis and war atrocities, especially given the interference by our allies for many decades.

I am deeply worried about witnessing the knee-jerk reactions to the early education scandal and the national bullying response. Australia has had decades of investigations into these issues and decades of sweeping under the rug. We need to create responsive mechanisms for parents to raise the alarm.

The Australian national narrative is overwhelmingly false information. From our history to our political structure and our everyday topics. We can't talk truth about our schools or our health care system. We can't discuss our terrible farming and mining practices. On it goes, taboo after taboo.

Australia is becoming a very angry place. We've been here before, and I believe it is deliberately stirred up by some political and media players. It's time to work together. It's time to end the name calling and instead unite against right-wing hate and want to be aristocracy and oligarchy.

Are Australians losing the ability to hear and discuss rationally? Or are we yet to develop that skill?

Australia feels like a deeply divided, uncollaborative nation. So many camps with so many triggers. But no listening and finding common ground to build from.

I saw a long Covid patient today. Gaslit since symptoms started.

If you are struggling to keep masking and doing the right thing, please know you are not alone.

But if you need to see a psychologist, have a look at this directory.

An hour or so before a booked out Kooyong Candidates Forum at Hawthorn Town Hall, Amelia Hamer pulls out.

Tonight, hundreds of Kooyong voters will see an empty chair - just like they did with Frydenberg.

And her reason? Have a look. 👇

It is terrifying watching the US elections for judge positions. But then, Australian politics is also open to political manipulation of our legal pillar.
#Auspol, vote wisely. The far right are rising fast. We need to keep extremism of out of Australian office.

Yesterday's protests in favour of Live Sheep Exports remind me of farmers in the 1980s & 90s complaining of dry land salinity and erosion whilst refusing to alter their farming practices, which caused the issue.
Regenerative farmers were proven right, so too will those wanting local processing.

"In rhetoric, Labor remain centre-left-ish. In practice, the Albanese government is pro-business, steady-as-she-goes fiscal conservatism, but with slightly more competence than the Coalition, and slightly less sadism. It has no big plans or ideas, and promises more of the same for the next term."
Why is Australian politics so boring?
And is that a good thing?

I'm worried about this Australian election. The global peace feels very fragile and I'm afraid that some of Australia's far right will become emboldened and take us into very dangerous territory.
Auspol, vote wisely.

Time to explore this platform. The old place is becoming rather right wing.

I'm puzzled. It appears universally understood that politicians are dishonest, unreliable, and self-serving. Why then do we tolerate a system where there's no mechanism to hold them accountable for their actions?
Australia, this we can and should change. Vote wisely and demand accountability.

The insanity pouring out of the US is extraordinarily funny. Rght up to the point you realise this is the USA, a nation that has a finger in every pie, in every location around the globe. Then it is scary.

The climate catastrophe and covid19 denialism have been bad enough, but the US is currently making the world feel an extremely unsafe place. Where will this end?
March 5, 2025 at 5:14 AM
Today's scenes from the White House are deeply disturbing. I hope that the world's leaders see the situation and unite to support Ukraine like never before. If not, the world could be in for extraordinarily unstable times.

We appear to be fast retreating into self-interest, sectarianism, and 'I think'.

We desperately need grown-ups in charge. Those mature enough to put their biases aside and look at facts.

This upcoming Australian election, I desperately hope for an intelligent, emotionally mature, independent.

It is incredibly sad to see Google following the political propaganda of Trump. An attempt to unilaterally rename the Gulf of Mexico is a sad, childish act, Google are helping turn it into propaganda.
February 13, 2025 at 1:09 AM
Anyone else feel that world politics is falling towards a disaster?

I have grave fears for the upcoming Australian elections. The Albanese government has been awful, Dutton would be far worse, our media are deeply biased.

Feeling really uncomfortable.

Through my football (soccer) life, I've paid far more attention to club teams than international. That said, I'm finding the #Matildas evolution fascinating. Their ups and downs and the impact of coaching staff is teaching me a lot. The #Socceroos would be wise to pay attention.

Movember rolls around, and I can't help but point out that many of the 'mens' issues Movember raises funds for could be fixed by simply fixing our political and media landscape.

Let's end the lurch to the right and instead instil FACT, EVIDENCE, and ACCOUNTABILITY as the central measures of society
November 24, 2024 at 11:36 AM
It is #InternationalMensDay and I would like to discuss the issue that our systems promote bullies, male or female, our systems lack accountability and our systems look for politically convenient solutions rather than justice. Good men suffer these problems too. Let's work TOGETHER.
