Saw #MalatestasCarnivalOfBlood - one of those fairly old horror movies that seem to have been inspired by #CarnivalOfSouls, with piss poor results. It’s a film that deliberately revels in its acid trip imagery and nonsensicalness - so I’m not sure if there’s plotholes or not. But the gore is good! Ⓐ

I count #DavidCronenberg’s #Spider as among his worst films - though I do have a certain degree of respect for it. The reason? Making a movie about a fairly “realistic” schizophrenic certainly won’t appeal to many people. But Cronenberg is a guy who always did his own thang - and I admire that. Ⓐ

Had the feeling I was too critical of the film #TheKrays (especially after I saw the mediocre 2015 movie #Legend). So I re-watched The Krays tonight, and properly loved it - because NOW I recognize that ONE film can never hope to satisfactorily encompass every important aspect of their lives. Ⓐ

More final thoughts on the #StarshipTroopers movie franchise - I BETTER NOT hear this oft repeated (“inspiring”) line EVER AGAIN: “Come on, you apes! You wanna live forever?” I’d rather go to the zoo and get an ape to throw ape shit at my face. Ⓐ
Also, every #StarshipTroopers sequel - should’ve been animated (as parts 4 and 5 were). Parts 2 and 3 were visually unimpressive (both being live-action movies with small budgets). As for #StarWars? I must say, live-action lightsaber battles are less impressive than the animated ones I’ve seen. Ⓐ
