Dealing with a bully effectively means confronting the behavior, not accommodating it.
The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

I'm quite certain my senators recognize me by name now.
I love to call my Senators' offices three times per week and try to cajole them into doing the most elementary political messaging and strategy. This is what it means to be an engaged citizen: leaving a strenuously polite voicemail for a 74yo on a more regular cadence than I talk to my parents.

If a federal worker engaged in or encouraged actions similar to what Melon Husk is doing, they would likely face charges of treason and end up in jail.

The prevalence of young rock and roll musicians in their 20s and 30s dating or even kidnapping teenagers, sometimes as young as 13 or 15, during the 1970s is deeply disturbing and makes me feel physically ill.
delighted to inform everyone that despite all the super liberated sex/drugs/rock&roll ideology flying around in the *edgier* parts of the 1960s popular music scene, when all was said and done the only one of those guys who had the balls to actually come out as bisexual was Arthur goddamned Garfunkel

I mention this whenever I see someone post the "It's Always Sunny" Charlie conspiracy meme. Whether intentional or not, that episode perfectly captures how outlandish conspiracy theories often come from people who don't fully understand the information they're discussing.
