Hope you enjoy!! I'm thoroughly MTG-pilled and curious, where are you at with the hobby?

If you knew how much this meant to me you would block me and move zip codes

The point here is not “use a good old fashioned American app” obviously, we know how corrupt those are. The point is these are all propaganda platforms, not TV replacements, tools of social change, or harmless digital candy dispensers.

If what we actually care about is reducing driver speed, then policy and infrastructure design have to point towards the same goal. One without the other is a recipe for failure, and what you'll end up with will be unpopular and ineffective

It's not though! Research shows speed limits alone are not effective at reducing driver speed. Here's an article that makes this point better than I am:

Facing an Uncomfortable Truth About Speed Limits
As much as we might like to think that speed limits alone will keep people safe from car crashes, they simply aren’t enough.

That's not my argument, I'm saying a reduction in the speed limit should come with additional traffic calming measures that make it easier/more natural to follow that speed limit.

Well to Davies' point nearly 100,000 people disagree. A more systematic approach to speed control would be more effective at slowing traffic and leave a better taste in people's mouth. I think the goal is good, but slapping a lower number on a sign doesn't do enough

I kind of agree with Davies, drivers as a rule take speed cues from the design of the road rather than posted limits. Any "artificial" limit lowering is going to feel arbitrary and predatory, and should be backed up by traffic calming measures that motorists can actually feel

I'm planning a Queer/Umbrellas of Cherbourg double feature at my local 😌💅 at least one of them is 90min lol

It's a great way to pretend you have a hobby

I have no idea if you're being sincere or not and I think that's beautiful

Why can't a movie be sexy and scary? Eggers NOSFERATU really successfully builds a dense atmosphere of dread and peril IMO, and the horniness is critical to the source material. I was a lil disappointed by the jumpscares (a few of which felt cheap) but I thought it was sufficiently horrific
