when i say he isn't relevant, that doesn't mean ignore the material harm his work still perpetuates. but a lot of us buy into it (at least partially) and it affects our analysis of ourselves and others.
maybe one day his work will finally be cast aside forever, but it wont be overnight

I think it's definitely a start in the right direction if nothing.
it's sad and pathetic on your mom's part that she chose to say that, but you don't have to openly endorse stuff like that to at least partially internalize it. it read to me like that was part of the sting of her saying it.

it isn't relevant because you can choose to reject that framework entirely. it's junk science from a dead freak who hated the very people his "work" focused on.

Definitely a good thing haha, it's just a hard one to consider because most of my dysphoria is concentrated in my face/shoulders and I never felt too strongly about my lower half.
but who knows, maybe a few grand landing into my hands might change my mind...
