Even as a semi-informed person of a certain age, I had no idea how frequent elections are throughout the US. IMO, as a primary defense of democracy, we should be highlighting upcoming elections and encouraging people to vote! No matter how small, the habit of voting matters. See @ballotpedia.org
This seems highly significant, the dangers of "self-financing presidency." Required reading for every member of Congress and staff

This is super important.
President Trump is building a “shadow budget” outside of Congressional control. @scott-levy.bsky.social explains why it is unlawful and how Congress should respond:

Are you listening, @democrats.senate.gov @housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats.org ?

They are telling you what they plan to do!
Mitchell argued states should bar local election officials from printing additional ballots if they run out on Election Day, a move that would disenfranchise voters due to poor planning by election administrators.

During my time on Trump's National Security Council, I reviewed a lot of calls between Trump and foreign leaders.
One of, of course, was the call with President Zelenskyy. Another was with Trump and Mohammed bin Salman.
You know about Trump and Zelesnkyy’s call, but have you heard about the call between Trump and the Saudi Crown Prince?

Watch my statement below. Mr. President, release the transcript.

If this is true (AIPAC using apparent subterfuge to obscure donations they have spurred) it is very problematic! I would say the same thing for any other organizations regardless of the cause. Campaign funding needs to be transparent.

As bad for journalism as the Jacob Bernstein puff piece about Nuzzi is, the investigation below is far more hidden and needs to be getting much more attention! Remember the names, Chris Buskirk and Rockbridge Network. Props to @11thhourmsnbc.bsky.social for this segment.
“The most important political operative in America that no one’s ever heard of.”

Washington Post reporter @lizzalichka.bsky.social joins @stephruhle.bsky.social to discuss her reporting on Chris Buskirk, the founder of Rockbridge Network, a group looking to shape MAGA's post-Trump future.

Please note my message to Senator Schumer below.
Sadly, I have concluded that you are not the right person to lead the opposition in this most dangerous time. You are playing the games of politics by the old rules despite the unprecedented and calculated real-world strategy employed by those trying to destroy democracy and the rule of law. 1/4

What this administration has done may seem chaotic but there is planning behind it. Everywhere, all at once. They say there's a plan for a third term . BELIEVE THEM!!!

DEMOCRATS - WHAT'S YOUR PLAN????
@democrats.org @democrats.senate.gov @schumer.senate.gov @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social
Steve Bannon says there's a plan for a third Trump term in 2028 — despite such a move being unconstitutional.

"There's many different alternatives. At the appropriate time, we'll lay out what the plan is, but there's a plan and President Trump will be the president in '28."

I am a bit slow, but it's now official -- I believe that those Democrats who more vigorously oppose Zohran Momdani than the Trump Administration (1) don't understand the nature of the threat and (2) can't be relied upon to protect democracy from the radical behavior of this administration.

In these times when democracy is under attack, I realize how important it is to vote in all available elections at the local, state, and national levels. I haven't voted in local school district elections, but found out I am already registered due to voting in state elections and need only show up!

My admiration for @piperformissouri.bsky.social. This thread describes a key longer term strategy to move our country back to sanity:
One of the most interesting things I do is work to raise money for down-ballot Democrats running in the reddest and toughest districts across Missouri.

I work with Blue Missouri to fund nominees who often lose in their first cycle. We need to remember how the Republicans were able
