Cork is a leafy city (in parts), but so are most other European cities north of the Alps.

Bike lane, Greenway, and footpath sweeping in Oct/Nov/Dec should be better than ↙️, ideally like the ↘️ photos from 🇫🇷 last week.

Not sure if these are views, clicks, or likes, but the X council account is getting less traction than even LinkedIn now

How are you commuting options need to be revised. Especially for a LA that has a 8% modal share target for cycling by 2028

Lots of people in 🇨🇭 seem to have opted for +25km/h pedal assist e-bikes.

Might be one to raise with the Engineers Oliver?

The lights only face the direction of vehicular traffic.

If you are cycling eastbound you don't see any lights.

A huge thank you to the ~50 people who have signed this so far.

I'll write up a background doc for elected officials in the coming days and they can take this further with City Hall hopefully.

📸 Daybreak this morning on the safer side of the N22.

The Straight Road cycle lane is awful and leaves people stranded while trying to cross a busy road.

Meanwhile, the same road (N22) has light segregation, an inner kerb, and a toucan x'ing a few km away.

Please sign this petition to call for safer cycling to Bcollig.

Well done to the @irishcyclingcmpn.bsky.social for their work on the new Irish Primary School Curriculum.

Cycling has been moved from the "adventure" activity area to "Active Living" in the Wellbeing Spec

Martin on infrastructure:

"Governments don't come forward with infrastructure and developments for the sake of it. We do it to benefit the population at large."

Martin on Greenways:

"we don't need super spec... or “intrusions on the landscape either.”

The cycle lane to Ballincollig is narrow, unprotected, and has a hedgerow frequently encroaching onto it.

€1m a day allocated to active travel for 5 years.

A huge opportunity missed to protect/promote cyclists/cycling between the 2nd city in Ireland and the largest town in the largest county.

Knapp's Square AFTER a +€1,00,000 investment of public funds to create

"better facilitate cycling and walking along Knapp’s Square"

www.corkcity.ie/en/council-s...

People are supposed to be able to walk and cycle in both directions here on the road.

There's a newish estate in Bcollig that has a Greenway built into it from planning.

Pity we didn't think about these things [walking and cycling a bike] 30 years ago.
