It could not have been a blade—no hand nor hardpoint is strong enough to wield a sword so large. It could not have been a searing beam, as the edges bear neither char nor residue. It could not have been a dip into the Great Void nor the edge of Realis-Itself, both of which are known to take pieces of those worlds that come too near—for the halfmoon Twaincut bears no radiant aura, no abyssal mark. It is simply a half-sphere, smaller than most moons yet still its own by all rights, perfectly flat on one side, and curved as orbs ought on the other, rotating in the blue light of Realis like a gamepiece floating in black water. It would be a puzzle, except for the greater one: Whether human or beast, to be born on Twaincut is to be born twice—first on the prairie-like Flatside, and then, after one’s first death, on the village-dotted Hillside. Or else reversed in order. And so to live on Twaincut is to live twice, soul and sense contiguous, yet with only fleeting memories of the life before. A nomad lord turned village priestess. An ox of the field turned ass of the mountain. A chicken-keeper turned sage of the open sky. A child lost and then a child again. Simplicity and complexity, ease and ambition, clarity and ambiguity. This is the amateur perspective. No, it is not so obvious as that. The plain is flat, but it is not simple. The hill requires effort but not all who climb have aims. It is a dream place, a haunting. Life and death, youth and age redoubled in on themselves. Spend a while there and you may wonder what I did: Perhaps Twaincut simply split itself. People Sentences Twaincut flatsiders always see without horizons. Twaincut hillsiders always seek what’s beyond the peak. Twaincut mystics always remember both lives. Place Sentences The Twaincut Flat always provides for those who journey far enough. The Twaincut Hill always turns a traveler down a new path. Twaincut depths always split outsiders in two.

Coming back with yet another #Palisade Post Card for #FriendsAtTheTable. My 3rd card of 6 was centered on The Figure in Concrete & The Broken Spoke, framed as one of many Alise Breka novels. The pulp novel framing, here, was designed by @badbucket.bsky.social, and was used on multiple cards.
The Figure in Concrete stands on a rocky outcrop. Russian Sage grows out of the rock and out of the Figure's body. The rock and the figure's belly are pierced by great rusted chains. The figure is breaking of the of the chains, sparks flying. Behind them stands a mech carrying an upright glaive. Their shield is massive. It's shadows are purple. In the pastel sky is shattering glass, The Witch in glass smiles on the left side of the glaive, the Devil's Two Front Teeth on the right. Chimera's Lantern is lit. The previous image is inset into a weathered pulp novel cover template. The title reads "Phyrric Shale" and it is by Alise Breka. A quote below reads "Tears falling on stone." It is home printed my RadiantAngel, the label reads.

[Trigun] Heartbeat

(i'm very fond of this comic<3)
A grayscale Trigun comic featuring Vash and Wolfwood. Against a black background, child Vash floats in Ship 5, curled up and with his thumb pressed to his mouth. Heartbeat noises sound around him, and he looks at peace. The background shifts to white and shows adult Vash, sitting shirtless with his knees pulled up to his chest. The heartbeat sound continues only to be interrupted by knocking. Wolfwood, from outside the bathroom, asks, "Hey blondie! You fell asleep in there?" The scene expands to reveal Vash sitting curled up in the bathtub, shower spraying on the back of his head. His clothes are left aimlessly on the bathroom counter and floor. From outside the bathroom, Wolfwood, shrugging of his jacket, continues, "… The sand steamer leaves at dawn tomorrow so don't take all night. I'm not waking you up gently if you're late." Vash's eyes continue to look downward, glazed and unfocused. Step sound effects and a yawn sound from outside the bathroom before Wolfwood says, "'m going to bed…". In the tub, Vash sits curled up against a dark background, before eventually lifting his head and unfurling himself as the background grows lighter. He twists around to turn off the shower and then looks at the floor, going, "Ah." He sits, thinking, before calling out "Wolfwood?". A sleepy Wolfwood replies, "…yeah?" from offscreen. "I forgot my towel!" Vash exclaims. "Ugh, look under your change of clothes… Knew you'd forget so I left it there…" a grouchy Wolfwood replies. "Gee, thanks!" Vash replies, a cartoony doodle of him saying "so reliable!". Vash, shirtless but with sleep pants on, opens the door, towel draped over his head, to see Wolfwood, reclining on the bed. Wolfwood's smoking and holding his rosary, lit by the light from the bathroom. Vash climbs into bed next to him, towel still around his shoulders, and rests his head on Wolfwood's chest. His eyes close and then open to see Wolfwood watching him. Vash exclaims, "Oh! It's speeding up!", and Wolfwood bonks him on the head before saying, "Get on here since ya wanna be so up close 'n personal!". The two tussle briefly and Vash laughs before Wolfwood tucks the blanket around them. Wolfwood continues to smoke as Vash curls up against his chest and listens to his heartbeat, the background turning black once again as he smiles, content.
