I spent the day today at an advocacy event for #AIinEdu put on by World Saavy and aiEDU. The event was advertised as an opportunity for student voice but the message was crafted from the very beginning that AI is inevitable in edu and necessary to be prepared for "the workplace".

I teach in the tradition of Liberatory Pedagogy. I am confident in my teaching when I am teaching but it is so counter-cultural that in adult spaces I shrink. The foundation of this Pedagogy is student choice. This does not mean an abdication by the teacher. It's harder than obedience.

Erasing Black History is not just an act of racism. It is an attempt to make sure that white people don’t know that they can fight oppression. It’s an attempt to let white people know they can sleep in the hay in the barn and don’t have to be on the streets, so long as we behave.

I didn't think there is an AI bubble. That would only be the case if the AI companies needed to make revenue to pay back their investors. From what I can see, this is all in the family. It's more like the economy's owners renovating the economy's kitchen so we can be cooked more efficiently.
