A lot of people hate the Republicans because they are evil. A lot of those very same people hate the Democrats because the Democrats have been so ineffective in fighting evil.

My current theory is that we're locked into a mass hysteria loop as people prove unable to psychologically engage with the complexities of the modern world and so attempt to burn it down instead.
Man, how did things get this dysfunctional? And before you say “the empire was always like this; you were just too privileged to see it,” no it wasn’t because if it was, the empire could not have been built in the first place.
