Part engineer, part musician and part craftsman. Into TTRP, and according to my daughter, Chaotic Neutral with Wisdom as my dump-stat.
Me too - the decorating of Lenin. He threw a terrific Christmas party apparently....

Still working on a large pile of scales, which need cutting, dressing and shaping and polishing, but took a break to rivet one on and test the layout

I swear that they use the same equipment to put chocolate on Time Out bars as we use to apply 15 to 25 microns of paint to aerospace parts....

New project on the bench. A hat block order arrived today and now I am making patterns for leather panels for the main outer shell, which will be made from leather. The project is a leather helmet, based on an example in the Newark Civil War Museum.

I'm onto stage 2 of the plague doctor costume. The mask is complete and now I'm starting on the overcoat. This is a major departure from my normal work. The cutting out and pinning of the panels took 6 hours.

Sometimes you have to improvise. Buying a full bust to tailor a hood is just too expensive. Glad we kept the Ellis Peters books. They are a great read as well...😁

The evolution of a decorative ring for a pewter tankard. The ring starts life as a flat disc, is formed on a lathe and then finished by hand.

Recently bought some minis from Crooked Dice Games - some from their Otherworld Miniatures series which has a lot of classic old school DnD monsters, but also some Galaxy Quest inspired figures, which I have not yet painted

My latest finished piece - a challenge for me, as I mainly work in leather and most of this us textile, and all hand sewn to my design

A commission for the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh.
It is based on the original surviving examples and research obtained from the Ingolstadt Museum

Progress on the Ingolstadt Plague Mask reproduction. Just the 'beak' to finish now. The leather beak was filled with perfumed wadding to neutralise the miasma that were thought to cause disease.
