Ok, but will it be able to call a phone number from my contacts again? I hate that ever since Gemini replaced Google Assistant it can't do basic tasks anymore.

Turkey's done. So is the kitchen. Actually its a little over-done for my taste. Let's not go there again.

I'm not sure that they are, but that probably just means it's something to sort out in court after there's an incident

I always use it since I developed that habit... Honestly it's just muscle memory at this point
November 15, 2025 at 2:02 PM
Tho in this particular picture looks like he wants to come for you

I know that top right picture is trying to make it look especially big...but as a not-quite-6ft adult I have actually seen a pickup at a BestBuy which I had to look UP to see the branding on it as the top of the grill was in line with my forehead when standing upright

There does also seem to be a difference in how others treat you on the road in general. Once on business Enterprise only had a pickup to give me...was a strange driving experience, when I signaled people MADE ROOM and nobody tried to change lanes into me like they do in my personal car.

I don't know...I think a lot of them are designed to be mall crawlers not useful work vehicles
November 14, 2025 at 11:54 PM
"soon"?????? You mean now? These things already exist and some people use them...and I've met plenty who intentionally keep HUGE hitches sticking way out "to punish anyone who tailgates and save their bumper"

Lmao wow
November 14, 2025 at 9:46 PM
Sometimes I get messed up on a 3 day weekend and feel like I'm ready to go to work after day 2 but then get way more upset at the end of the 3rd day that I don't have 1 more day off...
November 14, 2025 at 1:26 AM
Hope you feel better soon!
November 10, 2025 at 4:47 PM
yeah, that's the only time I use it. And now yeah I have to do it by hand to make a call.

Feels like we are going backwards when such simple tasks fail now.

I'm bummed the new Gemini seems incapable of calling phone numbers in my phonebook where the old Google Assistant did it flawlessly. Now if I say like "Call Home" instead of dialing the "home" contact it does a web search for "Call home".

Isn't the root of the problem that people prefer the SI prefix factor-of-10 convenience? No reason we can't do that...kilo-inches, micro-miles, centi-ounces...
November 8, 2025 at 12:46 AM
This has similar energy to stuff like "centi-feet", "kilo-inches", "micro-mile"
November 8, 2025 at 12:44 AM
Well something has to justify why it takes 50 minutes and 2 associates to buy a $2 pack of zip-ties locked behind glass...

When I lived at my parents house I used to have great fun when impatient people pulled 2 cars past the stop line, I'd stop 1 car behind it, leaving the sensor uncovered for a while. If you stopped exactly at the white line it went green almost instantly.
