FFIII on SNES was not a big seller. It was overly expensive. $80 and you didn’t know what kind of game it was. Most games were $59 or $69 in 1992. FF7 put all these past games into greater popularity. Word of mouth. GameFaqs helped a ton.

Game Stop has been irrelevant for years. I’m surprised they haven’t pulled the plug. The top corporation guys want to get paid.

Sega’s early RPG’s like Phantasy Star II and Sword of Vermilion came with hint books because they didn’t know if players would understand how to play.
