The whole thing feels like a bad lie. It's the ghost of a shadow of an era that really happened (and the media it produced), dressed up to be palatable to idiots.

It's fine for entertainment to be meaningless, empty, vacuous etc. But when it's something so popular and something that purports to be nostalgic and poignant, it just pisses me off.

Yeah, and I can't for the life of me understand why someone who I know to be decent and who has adopted animals in the past would obtain one from a breeder.
