I keep calling and emailing our representative and both NY Senators each day but getting through has been difficult to say the least. And Schumer's DC phone recording sounds like it's underwater - it cuts out in the same way every time I call to leave a message.

The Congressional staff member was clear that online contact gets ignored, and letters get thrown in the trash (unless you have a particularly strong emotional story). Calls are what all the congresspeople pay attention to.
