Extremely unsettling how he’s interacting with Epstein specifically in the latter’s capacity as a known sex pest, overtly seeking mentorship in the use of psychological abuse tactics.

I’m not sure who down at HBO needs to hear this, but the number of people who finish watching John Oliver and want you to then autoplay Bill Maher is approximately zero.

The challenging thing with takes like these is that they’re mostly right. It’s like being bullish equities: generally pretty solid.

But there are also times when number go big down, just as in politics there are times where you twist the knife.

I see we’re doing accommodations discourse, so I’ll share how growing up in 80s and 90s when none of that was a thing was for me.

First off: I did great in school. By which I mean I got good grades, not that it was apsychologically healthy environment.

“You live life forward”

Look, I don’t ever want anyone in a position of leadership that says stuff like this when it’s not welded to the idea that part of that ‘living forward’ involves owning and fixing the disasters you created, or resigning in shame.

Cavalier ass horseshit.
BRENNAN: Do you regret your confirmation vote for Secretary Kennedy?

CASSIDY: You live life forward. Again, you just do. Let the day's own troubles be sufficient for the day.

BRENNAN: That sounds like yes

Extreme wealth inequality is inherently unjust, and it’s not debatable.

Activists spend their lives and careers trying to coax the world into a kinder shape and the extremely rich can invalidate all that by staffing an army of consultants based on a passing grudge.

This delta in agency is immoral.

Here’s how my personal system of ethics works: if you publish shit like this, I’ll be doing an end around your paywall and reading whatever I want for free until you cut it out.

There’s this corner of the Dems that is starting to realize (especially as they digest the latest election results, in the context of Trump’s win) that affordability is the whole game.

That this is a proper class war.

Somewhere deep in ashes of my cynicism, I feel a faint ember of hope rekindle.

You people and your sports.

There are so many sportsball things going on lately I’ll be listening to my pods and they’re all like “yeah Trump has really lost his fastball” and I’m like sigh alright guess I’ll go look up if that’s good or bad.

It’s so weird to not know if I’m rooting for the leopards or the faces here

The whole country is clamoring to see the Epstein files, so that we can all immediately regret having seen the Epstein files.

And I think that’s beautiful.

Heh, it’s in fact the opposite of this.

They’re useful inasmuch as you’re working within your domain of competence, since the user has to function as the system’s variety attenuator and attending to ‘surplus variety’ the system generates as it runs.

This is true of all non-deterministic systems.

Feels like Mark’s answer was engineered in a lab to give the least amount of closure possible.

“…all those people including JP Morgan Chase” 💀
Trump: Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years. You have got to find out what did he know with respect to Bill Clinton… all those people that knew including JP Morgan Chase..

Reporter: If there is nothing incriminating in the files, why not—

Trump: QUIET! QUIET!

Reid is IMO one of the legit good high profile people in tech. Hell, I’ve even mostly forgiven him for creating LinkedIn.

Which says a lot.

I’m gonna be spending the weekend avoiding Megyn Kelly’s take on whatever happened between Trump and Clinton.
November 14, 2025 at 11:28 PM
Yeah I mean... they gave themselves huge tax cuts at the cost of global aid and healthcare for Americans both of which are literally killing people, and nobody stopped them. They pardoned a whole mess of criminal cronies and nobody stopped them.

They ain't gonna stop looting if we just ignore it.
They’re all just looting the treasury now

This is completely false and it’s one of the reasons I’m wary of relying on supply-side narratives around housing.
HUD Secretary Scott Turner: "I want to get to the root: over 12 million illegal aliens came into our country, which has put a great strain on our housing supply and affordability."

Are you an intrepid researcher who wants to explore the Epstein emails, but don't have time to sort thru the unstructured ravings of a deranged lunatic?

Fear not patriots! My colleague @thatsjustlikeyouropinionman.com has used the power of AI for great justice.

My basic understanding of all bluesky mod drama:

Peeps: “Hey can you like tell us how you’re running this place?”

Mods: “This isn’t really a ‘place,’ these are just bricks to build a place.”

Peeps: “But we need a place.”

Mods: “Yes, we have observed you living in our brick pile.”

Both sides: 😡

Real dumb take from Vance, per usual, who again shows that he doesn’t understand the first damn thing about economics.

Preventing cross-border labor flow is not unlike a currency peg, and has decidedly anti-prosperity effects in a similar fashion.

Supply flows to demand. Read a book JD.
JD Vance: "Democrats' idea was the way you get more prosperity is that you import more and more low wage servants."

You cannot deploy the level of funds allocated to ICE without systematically empowering criminality. It’s simply not possible to staff up that quickly with adequate vetting, training, and discipline.

This is state sponsored criminality that goes far beyond the inherent criminality of ICE’s actions.
Listen to this Border Patrol agent cry about how he's going to be DOXXED after being arrested for drunkenly barging into a woman's restroom with a loaded gun, demanding a date from the woman inside, and then punching the arresting officers.
November 14, 2025 at 3:20 PM
If you believe Trump’s denials here after the deluge of evidence to the contrary, you are extremely stupid and I’m gonna tell you about it.

Like every chance I get. I’m gonna be clowning you at the neighborhood barbecue, absolutely dragging you for being a gullible clown at school pickup.

Forever.

Man, watching Megyn Kelly out there sanewashing pedophilic SA is truly vile.

Like how do you do that and then just go out and eat in public.
