The far right terrorising asylum seekers in hotels love to spread the lie they’re worried about the risk of sexual assault. But here’s the truth: Two in five men arrested for last summer’s riots had been reported for domestic abuse. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Today is 3 months since Who Wants Normal? was published. Thanks so much to everyone who’s bought a copy, left a review, or shared a favourite quote on socials.

As the news cycle has become more toxic, this is a book that says disabled people are here, worthy and rather glorious, actually.

Tonight’s huge climbdown is testament to the countless disabled people who have tirelessly fought these cuts. Yes, UC was a loss and there’s more to do on PIP, but let’s not underplay this: a government with a vast majority has been forced to u-turn. Because of the disabled community.

Disabled people’s orgs have told the Guardian that plans to exempt only existing claimants from the cuts will create a “two-tier” benefit system that “condemns” future disabled people to poverty. As one said, “Is it even legal?”

Looking in from outside. It is hard to put in words how shocked and disturbed I am at what’s happening in the USA. My question is. Surely there Republicans, who are not comfortable with what Trump and his henchmen are doing to their country and citizens.
