I revisited some of my old haunts ten years ago. Some features remained as they had existed in memory for years while a favorite fishing hole for trout and smallmouth bass had shifted and filled-in. The feeder creeks were still contributing their flow. I stood there alone, remembering.

My feed is characterizing it as a "political feud."

As if.

Have you ever smelled the exhaust from a bar which exits the building via one of these?

My brother once cleverly named the fragrance, Pee-Aire. We got a good laugh outta that one. These vents can be located on the roof or on the side of the kitchen.

Up four cents per gallon over the past week. Photo taken on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 9 AM EDST.

No. My bellwether gas station in metro-Charlotte, NC, was displaying this just two days ago. It's about ten cents per gallon higher than in late-spring.

Is Tesler fluffing its own stock?

Wahlberg too? He and his brothers have a good thing going in the pickle game. No more of those for me.

New Hope has been in the avant garde since long before my time. Had the privilege of dining at Odette's and seeing Ann Hampton Callaway and Marilyn Flanagan perform there. Marilyn is an acquaintance. (It's a privilege to drop Marilyn's name).

Spotted some in the metro-Charlotte, NC, area three days ago. How deep are their roots that these go on bravely in this heat? They are relatively profuse in the area.

Yes, indeed. Rechargeable power pack; couldn't find a picture of the first generation pack. Also have the rugged carrying soft case for it. This picture is from an eBay listing. I ought to have gotten a collapsible hand truck for all of my gear but I was young and strong then.

Used to bring a Bose Acoustic Wave Radio, a Philips MP3 disc player and a CD with 160 or so specially curated songs to work for 'Fun Friday'. The acoustics of the building were favorable for high-volume merry making 😉 Photos courtesy eBay and Etsy

Here's the price per gallon for regular at my bellwether station in metro-Charlotte, NC, just last Friday.

Splendid. Who is fluffing the Tesler stock?
May 11, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Fuel prices in the Charlotte, NC, metro area remain a nickel on either side of $2.759. The price, coming up on my fourth (sweltering) summer here may sink another dime per gallon by the time the dog days get here. However, this is no ordinary summer ahead. My bellwether gas station shown here.

Seriously, who's fluffing Tesler's stock today?
May 9, 2025 at 7:31 PM
I know places like this of olde. Fished right there where the boulder juts into the water back in 1968 when I was a young fellow. I last went there ten years ago this coming July. I had that entire stretch to myself. The old trails were overgrown and it was idyllic.

Ah, the light from the rising sun on an engine nacelle doth stir my heart.

December 2014. A red-bellied woodpecker whom I'd named "Pecky" has just launched himself in my general direction. I had the privilege to watch several pairs/generations of these mature over eight years or so. I got the impression that the young birds displaced their elders over the seasons.
