Then they can't figure out why they're in the ER with frostbite.

These are not rational people that we'll be dealing with. Please, let's not let them get anywhere near our lakes.

I guess we can give them Little Egypt (southernmost Illinois) in exchange.

And golf courses.

The thought of adapting one's culture to the environment one is in seems to be totally lost on the Alt-Right, to such an extent that I've seen recently transplanted Good Ol' Boys walking around in -20F weather without head gear on, because that's how they rolled in Mississippi.

Water, once pumped out of a watershed, doesn't find its way back in. This would be an ecological disaster for the Great Lakes region, imposed on it for the short term pleasure of the sort of childish, self-indulgent people who expect to move into arid places and still get to have green lawns.

I could almost live with that map. But we have to take the Calumet region away from Indiana. Otherwise, one of these days Jesusland (the MAGA rump state) will start unsustainably pumping water out of Lake Michigan in order to water Texas. This has already been seriously suggested.

Hope this helps.

Don't have the alt text, but here's a link.

and a title "Trump officials start dismantling civil rights offices, as part of DOGE’s secret plan" by Julian Mark, Hannah Natanson and Danielle Abril.

Looks like there was a very slight change to the title after the artlcle was posted.

Washington Post, "Trump officials start dismantling civil rights offices, as part of DOGE’s secret plan," by Julian Mark, Hannah Natanson and Danielle Abril, 28 February 2025.

Do you see how this is going to be more persuasive than "trust me, bro" from somebody that they never heard of?

Mr. Hayes, if I handed those people a mere Twitter-style receipt from a stranger who had not yet earned my trust and didn't specify his sources, they wouldn't take me seriously, and they'd be right to refuse to do so. Here's a link.

Now it has credibility.

Especially the link to the source.

This isn't Reddit. One can include a link and a screenshot in the same post.

Trump is a temporary blip, but MAGA is not. If you're expecting his supporters to come back to their senses in the next four years, you're going to be disappointed.

They're just going to find somebody like him to rally around.

I'm guessing that the US is going to balkanize.

That might sound cruel, but the enemy has become deranged. Cruelty, sometimes, is needed to bring people back to Reality.

Perhaps that ratio could be made more favorable by establishing a no fly zone over Ukraine (for the Russians) and enforcing it without mercy.

Meaning that after one of their pilots ejects, his parachute is fired on and he is left to plummet to his death. No quarter.

At the current rate, Kyiv is going to run out of troops before Moscow does. For them to have a fighting chance in this unfair fight, they'd have to kill at least three times as many soldiers as they lost.
March 3, 2025 at 5:53 AM
This is good, but unless troops are sent, History suggests that the stalemate will continue. 190,000 Ukranian casualties vs. 300,000 Russian casualties

suggests that the Ukrainians are fighting more effectively than the Russians, but they are outnumbered 3:1.
Troop Deaths and Injuries in Ukraine War Near 500,000, U.S. Officials Say (Published 2023)
Ukraine and Russia have lost a staggering number of troops as Kyiv’s counteroffensive drags on. A lack of rapid medical care has added to the toll.

It would do measurable harm to the US economy, and be a stinging, humiliating slap in the face to Washington.

His followers would lose money, and know the reason that they did.
