In the middle of the 70mm vista vision first public screening in LA of the Brutalist. Amazing — then
the lights shut off. The whole block is out. Crazy.

Don’t read screenwriting books if you want to be a screenwriter. They suck.

Read Aristotle’s Poetics. Then read a bunch of scripts. Then read all the classic books and plays from forever.

And watch all the old movies you haven’t seen yet.

I left my wallet in a Waymo a few months ago. They have a home. It's on the outskirts of humanity in a heavily barbed wire warehouse, there's no office and the only person I could find to ask about my wallet was the security guard. Then I sat on a curb for fifteen minutes waiting for her to get it.
Was driving home last night and passed two Waymos that were just pulled over and parked in our neighborhood. Like they were sleeping. DO THE WAYMOS NOT HAVE A HOME THEY CAN GO TO? It freaks me out that they just free-roam my neighborhood all day anyway. Now I find out they sleep here, too?!

It's time for all of us to rewatch All The President's Men. Not for, like, important political reasons, it's just a great fucking movie.

Reading that Alan J. Pakula, hot off his late masterpiece that is Presumed Innocent, wanted to adapt The Secret History just as it was hitting the zeitgeist, but couldn’t make it happen before he died is deeply tragic.

Just finished Donna Tartt’s Secret History. At first I was underwhelmed by the lack of their beloved professor Julian’s presence in the novel, but by the end of it, and with some help from the protagonist, I felt as though it was the perfect choice for his depiction. A sparse figure who looms large
