I have lost my faith, too. We probably have more in common than not, but I'm not sure how to fix things other than getting the fuck out of here. Would be cool if we could start helping people do that.

That's logical. What is fucking annoying is people commenting "Texas = Taliban" when we could better spend our time coming together to undo the horrible shit we're going through instead of just labeling entire states full of people who care as "the Taliban."

Yep. And it won't be confined to Texas, Tenessee, OK, etc if the Christian Nationalists keep getting their way. So spare me the "I'll never set foot in Texas" crap unless you're willing to materially help those of us who live and work here get out.

I know, I know. We are terfible at getting out and voting, but I certainly do vote in every election, state, national, and local, and encourage everyone to do the same. There is so much apathy here it is seriously painful.

Here, there's an added layer of bullshit "tradition," as in, "our family has never voted Democrat so just can't either." And people grow up believing the lies and the propaganda, don't travel enough to get un-brainwashed, and the cycle repeats.

It's seriously so hard fighting this brainwashing in places like here in Texas. I hate how the right-wing has co-opted and changed the meanings of real words to fit their divisive ends.
