Was looking up old timetables over the weekend, found this gem. "It gets there when it gets there"-ass railroad.

One such suburban station was Endion, once located on the lakeshore South of South 21st Avenue, where I-35 now blemishes the city.
Since then it’s been “moved” to Canal Park, I don’t even know how you do something like that. 😭😭😭

I’ve been doing a bit of digging at the library and on the internet about the Arrowhead’s rail history, to try and map out historical rail stations, freight depots, etc.
What shocked me is that Duluth had 3 stations in Downtown, including Union Depot, on top of 4+ “suburban” stations.

The civil engineering office at UMD has this book on track engineering, has me thinking about how only like ten colleges in the US still have dedicated rail engineering classes. All of UMD’s “transportation” courses being highway engineering doesn’t help calm my conscious, either.
