that’s an illuminating perspective. I feel like in the US, if you hear anything about limiting free speech, it’s instantly equated with caricatures of “third world dictatorships” and oppression. side note, what is negationism? is that like denial of historical events?

I’m starting to agree with this viewpoint too. unfettered loosely held opinions / outright misinformation being blasted to millions of people in a way previously unheard of in human history…that’s gonna beed to be regulated somehow, and not by the heads of social media companies.
