Why couldn't twitter just stay shitn't
I always presumed they were more for drainage than bikes?

Effectiveness as a bypass can vary wildly with how much of a no parking buffer they paint on each side

This could just be perception due to the cramped layout

I'm really not that old and I get out on the bike a couple times a week, but I am now 100% confirmed to be a weekend warrior in spirit.

Note that this data is sourced from OSM, so any weird dots on the map may be legitimately be missing data (in which case, you can be the one to fix it!)

But they may also be technicalities like this, where a bus doesn't use one part of a complex junction or roundabout

And (potentially less interestingly) all of the secondary, primary and trunk roads in Auckland that don't get any bus service at all

Curious to see if AT breaks out the single digit numbers anytime soon (they feel fairly important - perhaps for BRT-lite, if they want to distinguish from B1 etc. as shown on leaked maps?)

We've almost run out of South Auckland route numbers, with 7 currently in use, and only the 34 left unused by 2031.

Meanwhile, Waiheke takes up a whole block with only one route (and no expansion likely any time soon.)

I'm sure that doesn't help, but I would guess that the bigger difference is lots of stops on 50kmh road vs spending most of the journey of on a freeflowingish 70-100kmh roads

Mt Roskillish to Highland Park.

The transfers aren't too bad using the 67, but it's an entire extra hour each way via bus,and I ain't doing that shit one way, never mind return.

Truly, Pakuranga is a scourge upon this fair city

(Still doesn't mean it's a good project tho)

Ah, I love this article, but was more curious about Britomart/the move away from the Beach Rd station than the CRL itself
