And a "bonus" is taxable income but a housing allowance is a non-yacable benefit.

Wait 'til they find out that "bonuses" are taxable income but housing allowances are tax-free benefits. LMAO 🤣

Professor, would you speak to how the demise of the Chevron Doctrine (Loper Bright, 2024) contributed to the situation that we find ourselves in at this moment in history? Or perhaps there is no correlation? Your learned opinion, please.

Courts aren't requiring the US to be at war with a foreign government to invoke the Insurrection Act so I'm not sure how war with Venezuela helps his authoritarian tendencies. He's had a grudge with Maduro since placing tariffs on oil in 2017. But Reagan declared war on Grenada so...

Hmm...stole oil, land and assets from the US? In the early to mid 2000s the US imported around 300M barrels of oil from Maduro. In 2017 Trump 1.0 imposed sanctions against Venezuelan oil and the imports were stopped completely in 2020. We only recently lifted them in 2023. This is an old grudge.

Interesting tactic. Assuming Protestantism will be the religion. When our military members are indoctrinated into Christianity, they will abandon the military because "all who take the sword will perish by the sword." "Blessed are the peacemakers." Interesting strategy, Mr. Secretary. Interesting.

What happened to us? In the early 70s most high school boys had a rifle, in their car, on school property. Then something happened in the 80s. And wtf happened to us since 2012? What kind of people are we that we kill without remorse. In schools? In churches? At music venues? In our own homes?

In my family we lost Felix Argiro on October 30, 1918; his child on October 31st, and his wife on November 1, 1918. The 1918 flu was devastating.

How do we get the information to make decisions about our health? Certainly not through the unqualified folks running the CDC now. Each of us needs to become PhD level researchers and dissect peer-reviewed scientific data, if we can even find such data given the massive cuts in federal R&D funds.

Seeing my PCP before seeing a specialist? Wow! What a concept! My insurance company calls that "needing a referral". And the specialist will ask if I have a "referral" before they will make an appointment. Who knew billionaires don't need referrals!

We are never going to agree on this. So I am an example of someone who thinks the line, "all men are created equal" is not a true statement. So there is your example that you asked for.
December 1, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Sorry, Jeff. Men didn't include women when the sentence was written into the history books. If it was inclusive, it would read "all people are created equal". You did say you didn't understand why the concept was not embraced by everyone. This is one reason.

Does sound perfect, doesn't it?

It is so hard for me to understand because the sentence excluded over half of the US population.

I am quite embarrassed to admit this but I listened to David Copperfield on cassette tapes (Google it if needs must) that I checked out of the local library. I totally enjoyed the story and narration and thought about actually reading the book but I am so old and there are so many books.

How convinced can we be with this new development when my VPN allows me to browse from any country? They'll figure it out quickly.
November 23, 2025 at 3:04 PM
I don't understand how confident we can be with this development. My VPN allows me to choose which country I am browsing from. Pretty much any country. I think they will figure out how to hide.
