The IL Supreme Court decides to take on the case of whether former Sangamon Co. Sheriff deputy Sean Grayson should remain detained pretrial.

An appellate court ruled all the way back in Nov he should be released with conditions. He will stay in jail while they deliberate

The DOJ and Sangamon Co. reached an agreement that ends the investigation into the office. It started after former Deputy Sean Grayson shot and killed Sonya Massey in her home after she called 911.

The DOJ found no evidence of discriminatory practices.

Re-upping because Grayson's hearing starts in an hour. These pretrial calls have been very short so far, but this one could have a little substance as they decide what to do with this appellate court ruling.

SANGAMON COUNTY RECORDER UPDATE: Republican Challenger Frank Lesko ahead of Dem incumbent Josh Langfelder by 31 votes after final VBM ballots tallied.

The Sonya Massey Commission is continuing to search for ways to prevent a killing like Sonya's from happening again.
