I love the expectation that I will simply adapt and fully integrate to the new* cultural and intellectual environment I am in while little to no consideration of my own will be given, with empathy barely extended if not actively cried for, a crying for which is seen as "needy" and "irrational".

At Thai places with 1 to 5 I usually just have to go with Thai hot in the hope it's spicy enough (so like a 6).

"Spicy enough" for me does mean actively crying while eating my soup

Try saying you hate Dr. Pepper and you will see just how much of a "free country" this is
