Enjoyed Death by Lightning on Netflix. It feels like the political elements were dumbed down to make it more palatable for mainstream audiences but the performances, especially Nick Offerman as Chester A. Arthur, were fun enough that I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in American history.

It still kind of annoys me that Tom Ford is as good a filmmaker as he is, in addition to all the other things he's succeeded at in life, but I am so excited that he's finally making another movie a decade after Nocturnal Animals.

Sad to hear about the death of great Japanese actor Tatsuya Nakadai. My favorite performance of his was in The Human Condition trilogy, but he was also amazing in Harakiri, Ran, and The Face of Another, among so many others.

If there's any justice in this world, next year Ethan Hawke will be a frontrunner for Best Actor at both the Emmys (for The Lowdown) and the Oscars (for Blue Moon).

Oh no, so sad to learn that the great Diane Ladd has died. I'm glad she got to deliver such a fantastic performance opposite her daughter Laura Dern in Enlightened, they were both so outrageously good together in that show.

Finally getting around to watching Abel Ferrara's 2014 film Pasolini starring Willem Dafoe, tonight on the 50th anniversary of Pier Paolo Pasolini's murder.

So endearing to learn that Texans RB Woody Marks' real name isn't actually Woody, but he just acquired that nickname years ago because he loved Toy Story so much.

I knew that MTV was a desiccated shell of its former self, but the extent to which they have become so totally dependent on this Ridiculousness show, to the point of financial absurdity, is hard to process. I mean, what the fuck are we doing here?! $32 MILLION A YEAR!? archive.ph/0Nt63

This could be awesome. I haven't read Southern Bastards in years but I remember loving it and thinking it'd make for a perfect adaptation.
