Hello everyone.

I'm Ioná, you might know me from yapping on twitter, or yapping on tumblr, or yapping on AO3, but now I'll be yapping here too.

I like motorsports, particularly Indycar, MotoGP, NASCAR, IMSA, WEC, F1, WRC...a bit of everything really.

So yeah, that's me.
So I usually don't promote my writing too aggressively - I don't want to annoy y'all and the way I see it, the link is in my pinned tweet, so y'all can check it out if you're interested - but after two years, I just finished my long Indycar fic.

I think the only solution for the #6 car is to go back to the Castrol Supra scheme full time. That's the only thing that has gotten this car to win.

I took a late nap and it fucked up my sleep schedule so now I'm awake at bumfuck o'clock at night.

Being a motorsports fan means you're a lot more aware of regional cigarette brands than the average person.

Okay Ferrari, you've won Le Mans with every single car, now bring a 499 or two over to IMSA! A Pennzoil Risi Competizione 499 duo would hit like crack.

The Italians hosted motor races in Asmara, Eritrea and Mogadishu, Somalia in 1938 and 1938 during the Italian colonial occupation and I fear this is the type of thing that I want to know all about but nobody ever cared to write about.

So I went down the rabbit hole to see what I could find myself.

Cool map from The Race from a few years ago, showing how the two different Detroit downtown layouts overlap.

There was a brief moment in the stinger for TLOU season two - when Abby wakes up at the stadium on Day One - where she's sitting on the couch and she looks just like TLOU2 Ellie.

Apparently, Kaitlyn Dever was actually supposed to play TLOU1 Ellie at some point but then aged out.

The thing that just hit me with this Palou win is that he's right about the Indy 500.

Alex Zanardi had such an amazing stint in CART but never got to run the 500 due to the split, flamed out with a disastrous F1 stint, and then came back in a backmarker car and had his Lausitzring crash.

"this year we're doing it more by strategy" AS OPPOSED TO WHAT? THE HELL WERE THEY DOING BEFORE?

Ericsson had a fuel and tyre advantage, Ericsson had a tow from the RLL cars ahead.

Alex Palou had to save fuel, his tyres were older, and he was chasing a car with a draft.

It didn't matter.

Alex Palou pulled off the pass anyway. Alex Palou has won the Indianapolis 500.

Y'all are mocking Danica's outfit but enemy submarines can't tell how far away she is. That's a tactical advantage.

MotoGP at Silverstone, F1 at Monaco, the Indianapolis 500, and the Coke 600 this afternoon.

I am going to have absolutely zero life today.

Wrote this late last night. Talking about power dynamics in motorsport, and why the Penske cheating drama, the Mohammed Ben Sulayem power grab, and the NASCAR trial all center on the question of accountability.

Teams want accountability, the series are fighting against it.
Lots has been said about the attenuator scandal in Indycar, but I think it has very little to do with a blended over gap at the back of the car. No, this has to do with Roger Penske, the teams, and the question of accountability.

Let's talk about Penske, MBS, and the France family.

Alright Zak Brown I know you just called them cheaters but I need your ass to lock in and hire all three of those motherfuckers right now. I don't care how much it costs, open up the wallet!

Let's make a deal - if you hire Cindric, Ruzewski, and Moyer I'll stop complaining about the #6 paydriver.

Definitely feels like Prema has pulled it together today.

Cinta's death is the first time I've been outright disappointed with Andor so far. I understand what they're going for by showing the Ghorman rebels as hotheaded, inexperienced, and more trouble than it's worth, but they are burning a good character for it.

It feels pretty "bury your gays" tbh.

Since this is gonna be the last F1 race at Imola you just know this will randomly be the best race of the season.

It's like clockwork, every time racing at a place is bad and they commit to leaving, the last race is great.

Even Valencia managed it, and everyone hated Valencia.

Stellan Skarsgard basically plays the same dude in Chernobyl and Andor and it works in both settings.

Honestly impressed by NASCAR. On a weekend where F1 delayed a sprint for rain, ate laps under SC, and then Norris stumbled into the sprint win with a lucky SC (again), while Indycar saw Palou domination, they still managed to be the biggest dumpster fire of the weekend.

Race to the bottom champs.

We need to convince Jimmie Johnson to come back to Indycar so we get cautions again.
