The last time I was in the USA this happened and it seems like things have gotten worse since then. 😔 bsky.app/profile/coff...
I used to be in Washington DC often for work. Shortest path to the office took me in front of the White House. The last time I was there in 2019, MAGA supporters were demonstrating in front of the White House yelling stuff about immigrants & BIPOC. I’ve since left that job, will be avoiding the USA.
I’m never going to America again

Thanks! They are vintage at this point; they were a gift from my best friend nearly 20 years ago. 😎

It’s great! Really happy to have an extra layer of protection. I use it during dental visits, on public transportation, when I’m sitting outdoors in a cafe, etc. it’s a good size, very portable.

Thanks! 🥰 so I think the tote looks fine the way I’m holding it in the pic but it looks a lot less elegant when I’m lugging it around on my shoulder (which I have to do while walking around the city because it’s kinda heavy) 😅

Right? It doesn’t have to be a big deal; it’s only uncomfortable because society has made precautions such a taboo. We are lucky though to live in an area where the weather is good and there’s lots of options for outdoor activities and dining. It’s pleasant, it doesn’t feel like such a big ask.

I am so grateful to have access to a test that gives you high confidence in a negative result, such peace of mind.

It’s always uncomfortable to have the precautions conversation with non-cc friends and family but I’m glad they’re open and accommodating. It doesn’t have to be a big deal and we had a wonderful time while staying safe. 💜

I can. It’s a 10-year multiple entry visa I’ve had decades that I just keep renewing, it’s easier compared to starting from scratch, at least I don’t have to physically go and do an interview. I am worried that if I break my streak it’ll be hard to get one further down the line, which seems likely.

I lived in Sweden for 3 years before I moved to Spain. Lots of things I liked about it, but the increasingly anti-immigrant sentiment, their handling of the pandemic, and swing to the far-right made me uneasy (as a brown woman).

Well, Jollibee is fast food so it’s not the best representation of this dish, but still pretty tasty!

Thank you 😊

Living abroad + no indoor dining (because 😷) these last few years has made me a pretty good cook. If I wanna eat it I need to learn how to make it. Now it’s like, why would I go to a restaurant, most of the time I can make the thing better at home.

That seems…predatory. When I got a call in Sweden it was almost always something I was expecting, a repair person, a delivery, my health center calling to confirm an appointment.

Omg yes! I get so stressed out, I get so many unnecessary calls and I’ve learned to just stop answering. No one ever called me when I lived in Sweden!

You’re welcome! 😊
