Seen a lot of different takes on the tiktok baby formula stuff with churches. I'm a big advocate of churches not replacing services that can be done better by charities, govs, and other services who simply do it better (although they should already be partnering and supporting them). 1/2

Im both ashamed and proud that tonight i seriously quoted Michael Scott misquoting Margaret Thatcher to make fun of her... I feel silly for seriously attributing it to her via my academic research of watching The Office too much but also you have to admit that's pretty impressive.

It has been a hard couple years but this last month in particular really feels like the critical point of division between those that want to follow the counter cultural ways of Jesus and those that want to dominate and rule in his name. Lord, forgive us.

Charlie Kirk & Melissa Hortman:
the profound loss of life for both of these individuals can only be described as shameful and senseless. We must do better to love those we disagree with. Even those whose ideologies we find 'dangerous'. All human beings are created in God's image. 1/2

Apparently, it was a mistake to wear a "Make Them Suffer" metalcore band t-shirt to my MA theology intensive. More controversial than my "economic class effects bible interpretation" take. Who knew

Unfortunately, I fear most people simply wont care about this until it is too late to reverse. The legacy of greed and consumerism will be permanently reflected upon a world humans were meant to care for but instead abused for temporary gains.

This is oligarchy. This is obscene.

While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.

End this oligarchy.

Christians in America ask yourself this question: does living your life in allegiance to Jesus have any resemblance to celebrating dropping bombs, starving the oppressed, or war mongering? Despite your prefered politics, if the answer is yes, then you simply follow something other than Jesus. 1/2

Here for it
What happens when cities invest in walking & biking? UCLA & Google studied 11,500+ cities—the largest global look at active travel.

✅ Safer, denser streets = more walking & biking
✅ A global shift could cut emissions 6%
✅ $435B/year in health benefits

The first U.S. bishop appointed by Pope Leo XIV—a refugee himself—is mobilizing priests to accompany migrants at immigration court on June 20.

It seems that much of the Evangelical Church either doesn't understand or is unwilling to see that migration is a huge part of the narrative of the Bible and specifically used by God to bless people in and through it.

I feel like it's a huge disgrace to Kendrick to compare Elon or Trump to him. Not even in the same universe. But dare I say I think it's even insulting to Drake?

Using violence to try to stop violence only continues the cycle of death and hatred. The way of Jesus is radical, non-violence, and love of enemies.

The role of the Church is to follow the Biblical mandate to stand against evil and take care of the oppressed and the alien, among many other moral mandates. It's sad to see the US government calling lies truth and evil good. We must continue to stand for what is right.

One of the beautiful things about Christianity is that humans are in the image of God. Specifically, this image sets the foundation for how life should be lived. We are tangible portraits of God to the world. Let us strive to fully articulate that image as best we can until it is fully realised.

I really don't know what else we can call this. Even those who are completely uncritical of Israel have to see that this will directly kill so many innocents, and it is completely intentional.

Rest in peace, Pope Francis. A truly loving and genuine example of service and care for others by following Jesus. He will be deeply missed.

Happy Easter! Christ is risen! The good news of a radically better way to be human and join Jesus' kingdom. A kingdom defined by truth and love. Something so different than the world we see now. Part of the good news is that things will be restored and that they are being restored now.

Those who have openly cheered on the cuts to foreign aid bear a direct responsibility for these precious lives being needlessly lost.

If there is one thing people should have learned by now it's that, "I was just following orders" is not a viable ethic, will not stand up in court, and doesn't circumvent their duty to uphold human dignity/rights.
