I tested my mom‘s pendant—her med scope, her fall detection. I do it every three months to make sure the battery works. Normally it’s an operator that takes the phone call. This time it was an artificial intelligence that answered the line.

I just don’t play video games anymore. I’ve lost all interest and they don’t do anything for me. They just feel like a waste of time and I have so many things I need to get done. I don’t even watch fucking movies anymore.

Writer-tip: If you're struggling with character dialogue, bouncing around between different mindsets, have ChatGPT roleplay as one character and you as the other.

I discovered that if I write in the third person first, it becomes easier to narrate and paint the scene without having to think of character thoughts or dialogue. Then once it's done, I go back and change it all to a first person point of view in present/past tense.

This might be a controversial opinion, but I believe the ending of a book is the most important thing outside of an opening hook. I sometimes write story endings first, then the middle, and lastly the start.
The ending has to stick, but the beginning can be any generic Hollywood opener you want.
