Transitions are rarely acknowledged. They are points on the journey not always worthy of mention. The before and after seem more significant - expected to happen in seamless succession.

As a new engineering manager, have you wondered "Will I ever enjoy work again?" That flow feeling is rare now. Days fragmented into meetings. You finish exhausted, pointing to nothing concrete. You're grieving an identity that felt clear. The enjoyment comes back differently. #TechLeadership

Working in a team can be challenging, and leading a team is often even more difficult. As a leader, you find yourself both part of the team and outside of it at the same time.

Did you know there is a walkway on the top of Tower Bridge where you can see London through a glass floor beneath your feet?

Standing above the city, watching the bustling traffic and boats below, reminded me that things that seem massive up close often look smaller with a bit of distance.

Happy Diwali to all those celebrating today!

As the festival of lights brightens homes across the world, I've been reflecting on how we can all bring light during times of darkness, especially when parts of our world are experiencing profound suffering.

When I moved from India to UK, autumn amazed me. Made a bouquet of fallen leaves that first year. Years later, Autumn is still my favourite season. Pumpkin soup today! #Autumn #AutumnLeaves

Does this happen in your team? Hoping time will make the hard things go away? High-performing teams aren't built on crossed fingers. They're built on the courage to name what's not working and act on it. #techleadership #engineeringmanagement

There's a hidden cost to waiting to lead. In a leadership vacuum, problems don't pause - they multiply. Small issues breed bigger ones in the shadows of inaction. Your team needs your leadership today, not when you feel 'ready.'

Ever watched kids look behind mirrors for their reflection or peer through the wrong end of a telescope searching for the moon? Pure wisdom in that approach.
Missing your old 'technical you' in this leadership role you worked so hard to reach? Try looking through the other end of the telescope.

You've mastered technical communication. Now as an engineering manager, you need entirely different skills. If you're cutting meetings short to 'give time back' without questioning why they struggled, you're avoiding the real work of leadership.

Being STRONG isn't being sustainable.
Strength means powering through exhaustion. Sustainability means building patterns that don't exhaust you.
Your team needs you present, not running on empty.
Being strong got you here. Being sustainable keeps you here.

This is May, my friend's cat.
She often joins us when I visit, and she's a brilliant listener. She'll stare intently at me when I look away. But the moment I glance at her, she looks down.
I guess everyone has their own idea about how much eye contact feels right.
