that’s interesting, i didn’t even think krita was especially bad, just a bit roundabout in some of its methods. i could believe tools are a major problem, i’d really like a tablet with a pen pressure setting between too soft and too hard, for example, but maybe csp can mitigate that somehow

yeah the nice thing about textured brushes is i can just smooth out bumps or fill in thin bits or connect lines without it looking super unnatural, i don’t think i can ever quit using it

i mostly draw big and try using shoulder/elbow movements at the start but any details like eyes or fingers i have to zoom in so far and even then the lines are too small to not use my wrist. i’m usually quite zoomed in to begin with too but that’s hard to quantify

i guess some of it is just working with vn sprites which are only like 500x600 so all the pen pressure blobs get super visible, but it’s the same with studies so i dunno. i might need to start using max stabilizing and going slow, so i could try out csp someday, but slow lines are still wobbly…

the atmosphere in these is really fantastic, i love the textured shadows in the witch one especially
