ID: The toe of a light blue sock and a half-knitted sock. They have a fish-bone type cable pattern on a seed stitch background. There are two by two rope cables on each side which join up at the toe!! They’re lying on a background of bright green knitting with the same stitch pattern.

(that's a myth - although I think there is one example of a person who identified someone based on a mistake they made in knitting their sock). I think it’s interesting what people want to believe about Ganseys. Follow me for more Ganseys misinformation and half remembered lore :P.

One thing that’s neat about Ganseys is that there’s a lot of mythos around them. Like that people could identify bodies of drowned sailors by the Ganseys they wore.

Please note how the cables join up over the toe!!! It was so hard to work out how to do that!!!
