We had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from the Chipping Norton Royal British Legion yesterday to commemorate Armistice Day in school before joining them at the town memorial.

This afternoon, we dropped off 47 shoeboxes for this year's teams4u.com/shoebox-appe... to provide Christmas gifts to vulnerable children and their families. Thank you to everyone involved and for showing our value of compassion in action!

”Bill (Year 10) competed in the last round of the 2025 motorbike racing season in the MiniTwin class (Suzuki SV650) at Donington Park with the British Motorcycle Racing Club.

These results are a down to Lily’s hard work and commitment to excellence—qualities encouraged and supported by Chipping Norton School. We wanted to inform you of her success, as it deserves public recognition and may inspire her peers to pursue their own passions with the same determination.”

"Over the course of the season, Lily (Year 11) has competed in the National and European Hovercraft Championships. Impressively, she won every race of the year and was ultimately crowned Champion in BOTH Championships.

Good luck to Christopher Taylor (Y13) who steps into the ring to represent England on Saturday. He is facing Taylor McMahon, reigning Scottish & Three Nations Champion. Impressively, Chris is moving up a weight class to take on one of Scotland’s brightest talents. All of us at CNS wish him well!!

We are proud to support the British Legion buff.ly/pVAmNWV and sponsor a commemorative plaque for one of our students who gave his life in service during World War II: Sergeant Nick Stockford (CNS 1933-38).

A further example of our values in action from our Year 13s Fin, Alfie and Jacob who went above and beyond during Open Evening when helping out a car driver who had hit a deer and pulled into the school car park.

We said a big thank you to our Open Evening tour guides and subject ambassadors in a special assembly this morning. An inspiration to all our students and a great example of our values in action!

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our Open Evening and to our dedicated, passionate, marvellous staff and students who made it so special. A particular thank you to our Y7 and Y12 students who spoke so eloquently about life at CNS and our very talented Y12 musicians who opened each talk.

We are looking forward to showing our school community to lots of interested parents and students at tomorrow's Open Evening (Thu 2 Oct, 5-8pm). Our taster video includes highlights from our exceptional exam results and a selection of pictures from enrichment opportunities open to our students.

This week's assembly was on the 5 benefits of regular attendance - ranging from improved mental health to stronger relationships and positive life-time habits. We will follow this up with a closer look this morning at Habituation vs Avoidance: how small steps of courage help us to control anxiety.
