Again - where are the copy editors? Reading another novel with an absurd grammatical error. #Worse is an adjective that means of inferior quality. #Worst is an adjective and means MOST corrupt or unfavorable or unpleasant. These words are not interchangeable. Please & thank you.

My unprecedented 3 weeks off over Christmas and NY is coming to a close. One week knocking about, one week with family and one week at the beach (thanks, Palmaia!). And I read 7 novels during this time. All of the above = good for the soul. 2025 - LFG!

Webb’s Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) image of Neptune, taken on 12 July 2022, brings the planet’s rings into full focus for the first time in more than three decades. The most prominent features of Neptune’s atmosphere in this image are a series of bright patches in the planet’s southern hemisphere that represent high-altitude methane-ice clouds. More subtly, a thin line of brightness circling the planet’s equator could be a visual signature of global atmospheric circulation that powers Neptune’s winds and storms. Additionally, for the first time, Webb has teased out a continuous band of high-latitude clouds surrounding a previously-known vortex at Neptune’s southern pole.

This sentence has five words. H ere are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It's like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and 1 create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes when am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals sounds that say listen to this, it is important So write with a combination of short, medium, and long sentences.
